The Theatre
Skopje is one of the few capitals in the world that hosts two national theatres: the National Theatre of Skopje and the Albanian Theatre of Skopje. This documentary explores not only the distinct spatial and institutional identities of these two stages but also what is often referred to as the "fourth dimension" of theatre: the audience. Through a parallel investigation of their artistic and daily life, we delve into the histories of two actors—each tied to one stage—alongside the shared experience of audiences who, though divided by language, have sat just meters apart. A story of scenic art in two languages, in one city.
